Pomeroy has lost his way, he has lost his moral compass and can no longer discuss how other places charge too much. Pomeroy's and prices were reas onable and affordable. Pomeroy (Fred's uncle in the 70's) we went there as we trusted both Dr. Pomeroy for generations, my mother went to the original Dr. I would strongly warn anyone to stay away from Feist. My whole family has been going to Dr. Treatment for this will probably cost over $2000, as well as putting my cat through pain, trauma and risking his health. Because of this, I probably waited longer to bring him in for treatment than I would have if I hadn't take him to Feist at the start of these problems. I am so disgusted with Feist, the information they gave me actually harmed my cat, as I was reluctant to bring him in again and waste so much money to be told that it is a "behavioral" problem. If I had been warned that this could be a possibility, and that there are foods that can be given to prevent/reduce this risk, this could have been avoided or at least been less traumatic. The staff at Feist made no mention of this as a possibility, which I now understand from info given from the current vet hospital in very common, especially in male cats. This is very dangerous and cats could die if left untreated for even more than a day or so. He had struvite crystals in his bladder, which blocked his ureter, and his kidney function was compromised. Fast forward about 6 weeks, I had to take my cat to the emergency vet hospital to get a catheter placed and treatments. $200 later, we were told this was a behavioral problem and he didn't have a UTI, no other information was given. I took my cat in because he was urinating outside his cat box. I would strongly warn anyone to stay away from Feist. That experience was as good as it could have been and that vet was very kind and knowlegdable. On the other hand, a few years ago we had our 18 year old dog put to sleep here. Is this the first time you've been around a dog? It was so awkward and I felt like my dog was judged by his breed and didn't receive the level of care that he should have. As the vet was checking his eyes, ears and teeth, our dog gave him a kiss on the face and the vet jerked away from him and wiped his face in disgust. They muzzled our dog and it ended up he could lay on the ground and take the temperature with one hand on his back and no other force needed. The vet came in and the both of them went to take our dog's temperature and held him down on the ground and the vet tech has both her arms wrapped around his neck (our dog was abused, so this technique isn't right for him) He struggled to get away from them and used his mouth to do so (gently and only did so AFTER he made it clear that he was uncomfortable and scared) and the vet tech assumed he was trying to bite and be aggressive. The vet assistant greeted us and paid no attention to our dog and left the room to get the vet. Brought my newly adopted pit mix to this place and it was the strangest animal related experience of my life.
